The last quarter of 2009 shows that the housing markets in many countries are slowly beginning to stabilize and even show growth. This is perhaps the most important news of the past year for the international property market. Mondi has summarised a number of important events from the past year for you.

In the beginning of the year, the credit crisis was a reason for many people to freeze the plans for the acquisition of foreign real estate . The crisis also has a reverse. Inventory by Mondi showed that 35 percent of the visitors of Mondi.nl did not trust the market, but 56 percent saw new opportunities. For some people the financial crisis gave rise to go on hunt for "bargains".

Particularly in Spain, where many developers and homeowners found themselves in difficulties, people were looking for attractively priced homes. The idea being that this was precisely the time to invest. It is clear there are risks associated with this. For this reason, Mondi tried to  formulate tips on bargain hunting. Mondi has also highlighted for the creation of security when purchasing a property abroad.
